Sportspy Reports – Sunday February 20th 2011

Next weekend will hopefully see the last Sunday of the winter.  For the third week in succession it was overcast and cold.  An unusual day at Commonedge where the icy wind was coming in from the South East making it very unpleasant for spectators.  It was another of those days where it never quite gets light.  Not the best of days for photographs.  On pitch 2, Division 2 leaders Number Four Rangers FC were at home to Layton Institute FC in the white.  A 4-1 win was enough to keep Rangers a point clear at the top.

Just a couple from The Xceptional Kitchend FC v Stable Bar FC (White) match in Division 4.  A shock result this one as the Stable Bar's unbeaten run of eleven games in all competitions came to an end following a 4-3 defeat.

In Division 4, CBFC Choices Furniture FC (Red), were at home to the No1 Club FC.  It looked as though this one was heading for a goalless draw but the Number 1 Club FC took all three points thanks to late goal.

On Pitch 5, Lane Ends FC (Yellow and black) took up the offer of a spare pitch to play opponents Blue Room FC in Division 3 as there Wesham home was waterlogged.  A good win for Lane Ends FC who recorded a 5-0 victory.

Finally, over on Pitch 1, home side Waterloo Hotspurs FC were at home to Metrostars FC in Division 4.  The Hotspurs led 2-1 at the break but came under increasing pressure in the second period.  Metrostars FC deservedly equalised bur the Hotspurs rallied to come back and win the game 3-2.
