Snaps From The Green – Wednesday April 22nd 2009.

Referee Mark Errington

Good tip over from the Wrea Green keeper

Under pressure from Douthwaite and Ford, he does well again

Half time came and 0-0. A hard-working performance from Wrea Green. Quilligans thought they had the ball in the net but Ref Errington waved play on, ruling a goal-line clearance had prevented the ball crossing the line.

Panic set in as a Wrea Green sub couldn't find the changing room key. As the search began a couple of helpful suggestions were aired. Tony Wood remarked that Sped senior was adept at dealing with changing room doors whilst Daz Spedding offered to let it slip to Frendy that there was a pie behind the door. Thankfully the key was found in Sped's kit bag.

Patience was called for at half time by the Quills coaching staff and they started the second half brightly, Douthwaite here going close

Opening goal, scored by Jordan Spedding from close range

Spedding added a glorious second, a smart turn and a deft lob from 30 yards leaving Wrea Green's keeper rooted

Liam Frend on for Carl Faber, not only strong in the air but creative with several flick ons leading to chances

That Wrea Green defender should go and pick on someone his own size. Oh, hang on…

Wonderful 30 yard strike from youngster Joe Camozzi, rivalling Jordan Spedding's for 'goal of the game'

At 2-1 Quilligans could have wilted but weren't in the mood to accept anything less that a win. Jordan Spedding, on a hat-trick, hit the post from a tight angle (to shouts of 'greedy *****' from Dad on the sidelines) but the third goal came from a Quills midfielder, volleyed home following a corner.  Captain Robbie Boal charged from the halfway line for Quills fourth, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake before slotting past the keeper. Final whistle and 4-1 to the visitors.
