Results & pictures – Sunday October 7th 2012

Courtesy of the BFSFA committee, here are all of the provisional results from today's programme of Sunday Football league action. Once agin the league and Cup programme was heavily affected by the week's rain. The tables, fixtures and results have now been updated. Be patient with fixtures as Dennis will have to work his magic to get all of the outstanding Gledhill Cup ties played. If in doubt, please call Dennis on 391055.

Results & pictures - Sunday October 7th 2012

For the first time in many weeks we had blue skies, sunshine and no wind to speak of…great conditions for Sunday football although many of the pitches were still a little heavy after the recent heavy rains. In the Gledhill Cup three Premier Division sides were knocked out by teams below them. In the result of the day the Division 3 outfit Bispham Hotel beat Revival Tattoos FC 3-2. There was another magnificent win for Boars Head of Division 1 as they largely outplayed Blackpool Catholic Club to win 6-2 and Bathroom Solutions put Bloomfield Vets to the sword with a 7-3 win. There were also victories for AFC Additions, Reform Health Club, Poulton and Uncle Tom's Cabin. On to league action and in Division 2, Northern Rags FC went second after 2-0 away win at AFC Wilo. Wesham FC went second in Division 3 after beating Metrostars 7-2 and Pump & Truncheon and Score FC had the best of it in Division 4 as they went second and third respectively.

A week of unseasonably wet weather meant that only ten games survived the heavily waterlooged pitch situation. It was a terrible day for football once again and was even worse for the juniors this afternoon. In the Lancashire Sunday Trophy Revival Tattoos enjoyed a great 6-1 away win against Preston side Theatre Boys FC. Molloys FC went three points clear at the top of the Prem following a comfortable away win at Bloomfield Vets. In the two re-arranged Gledhill Cup ties both Clifton Rangers and Wesham Town both fought back after going behind to progress through to the next round. Golden Eagle went second in Division 1 after beating Blackhurst Budd 1-0 away in Lytham. Fylde Coast Gates comfortably beat a nine man Thatched FC 10-1 at Collins Park to top Division 2 and Xceptional Kitchens are up to third after a 2-1 home win against Blue Room. Division 3 strugglers Athletico Excelsior won their first league game this season following a comprehensive 8-0 victory against Marshall Court. Pump Truncheon's 8-2 win against Marton Athletic took them to the top of Division 4 whilst Dutton Arms continued their good run with a 3-0 away win at JJ Property Services FC.

Boars Head FC win away at top Rochdale side Midland Phoenix FC. Blackpool Catholic Club, Xceptional Kitchens, Molloys, Sports World Media, Blackhurst Budd and Reform Health Club also progressed to the next round of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy. Poulton's 3-2 win at Bloomfield Vets took them to the top of the Prem on goal difference. A great win in Division 1 for in-form Mythop Leisure against Golden Eagle and AFC Bloomfield came out 3-2 winners against CTK FC. Division 2 leaders FC Rangers went down 1-0 at home to Blue Room. Fylde Coast Gates took advantage to go ahead of them thanks to a 2-1 win away at Mereside. In Division 3, Bispham Hotel's recent good run of form continued with a 5-2 win against Marshall Court and they top the Division tonight. Wesham Town stayed top of Division 4 after beating Fylde Coast Vets and there was a great win for Victoria FC who went an won 4-1 away at Score FC. Dutton Arms are up to fourth after they beat the Highlands 5-1 away.

Annual Charity Match due to take place shortly

Hi, it's Steve Ryan regarding this years charity football match raising funds for epilepsy research U.K. The Jayne Quinn/Natalie Walmsley memorial shield is in its eighth year and has raised thousands for the charity. The game will be played at A.F.C. Blackpool common edge K.O.5p.m. on Sunday 30th Sept.

Good early wins in the Gledhill for Bathroom Solutions, Mythop Leisure, Boars Head, Blackhurst Budd, Northern Rags, CTK and Northern Care Colts. In the Premier Division Reform Health Club lost a rare league game as they went down 4-3 away at AFC Additions. Molloys stay top despite losing 3-0 away at Poulton. Xceptional Kitchens beat AFC Wilo 4-1 to go fifth in Division 2. Hampton Road Social and Athletico Excelsior each gained their first point following a 2-2 draw. In Division 4 Fire & Ice won their first ever game with a 2-1 win against JJ Property and Score FC went joint top after beating Layton 5-1.

Sports World dominated the first half but just after the break the Garages pulled one back to make things interesting. It was off to the adjacent pitch to watch the second half of the Gledhill Cup tie between Division 1 outfit Mythop Leisure FC and Division 2 high flyers FC Rangers. I was rather hoping for a Cup upset. However, the first half was delayed due to a suspected broken ankle for Mythop's Mike 'Elvis' Donohoe…not good

a week can be a long time in football….seven days ago FC Rangers were comfortably beating Marton Institute but this week they were getting the runaround from a very impressive looking Mythop Leisure who went on to win 10-1.

In the Prem Revival Tattoos FC draw 1-1 with Reform Health Club…Molloys top the table after a convincing 5-0 win away at Christ the King. In Division 1 the Boars Head had a great 1-0 win against Blackhurst Budd FC whilst leaders Mythop Leisure went top after a 5-0 win away at Northern Care Colts. Division 2 pacesetters Northern Rags and Fylde Coast Gates played out a 1-1 draw. FC Rangers stayed top and in good early season form as they comfortably beat Marton Institute away at Collins Park. A rare win in Division 3 for Old England who beat Hampton Social 4-2. Bispham Hotel are top ahead of Frenchman's Cove after they beat rivals Squirrel FC in the village derby. Wesham Town are going well in Division 4 after another big win. Score FC came out on top in the game of the day as they beat Pump & Truncheon 4-2.

A good win this morning for AFC Additions at home to Revival Tattoos FC puts them joint top of the Prem tonight. In Division 1, Bathroom Solutions lost their 100% start to the campaign as they were well beaten 5-0 by an impressive looking Blackhurst Budd FC. Wins for both Fylde Coast and FC Rangers leaves them heading Division 2 this evening after impressive starts to the season. In the Division 3 game of the day, FC Kingsfield beat Normoss Newton Arms 4-2 away but Bispham Hotel stay top after they beat Hampton Social 7-2. In Division 4, Wesham Town FC made it four wins from four as their brilliant start to the season continued.

Nick Greenall's left footed rocket in the video at the head of the page made the final scoreline 5-0 to Blackhurst who on first impressions look real contenders for the Division 1 title.

FOOTNOTE: The BFSFA Committee later found that Blackhurst Budd FC deliberately fielded an ineligible playerand knowingly submitted a false team sheet to the league. As a result, Bathroom Solutions FC were awarded a 1-0 win.
