Snowfall accounts for all of Sunday's fixtures

The overnight snow arrived as forecasted with a good four inches or so across the Fylde Coast.  This combined with the prospect of more freezing weather to come has meant the inevitable postponement of Sunday's programme.  The next BFSFA fixtures are scheduled for Sunday January 9th and we'll let you know via the Shoutbox when the revised fixtures are on-line.

The G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report 12 December 2010

Pulcinellas v Wrea Green?, Poulton v Ingol?, Mythop v Quilligans?, County v West Coast Tackle Postal?  One by one they all went down for one reason or another.  In the end only four matches survived the overnight frost in the Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Football Alliance.  On Pitch 3 at Commonedge Road, CBFC Choices Furniture took on DH Gas FC in the opening round of the Division 4 Cup.  Referee Ross Swift gave the go ahead for an 11:30 kick off.

Sportspy Reports - Sunday December 12th 2010

We were certianly lucky to get any football played this morning and at one stage I thought we wouldn't have a game to cover for the third week in a row.  On Pitch 3 at Commonedge Road, CBFC Choices Furniture were at home to DH Gas FC in the first round of the Division 4 Cup.  CBFC are going well this season and the league table had them in third this morning whilst opponents DH Gas FC were down in eleventh. The teams had already met twice in the league with CBFC coming out on top on both occasions with two 2-1 victories.  In the Gledhill, CBFC were thrashed early doors by current holders Poulton whilst DH Gas also went out early to Division 1 outfit Spindles.  Referee Ross Swift passed the surface fit to play after allowing for a thirty minute delay.  DH Gas FC were in the red kit. Just bfore 11:30 surrounded by empty pitches we were underway.

Sportspy Reports - Sunday December 12th 2010

After three weeks of blank weekends it was great and get and see some live football and even though you could still hear the sound of stud on the hard surface in the latter stages as the players hoofed across the pitch you'd have to say that the 30 minute delay made the pitch just about playable.  Not the most exciting of Cup ties with only a handful of clear cut chances.  DH Gas deserved it and with a little more clinical finishing they should have won by two or three but all too often, an extra and unnecessary touch cost them but they played well with some good passing football as they moved up the pitch. Both keepers handled the ball well apart from the goal which Sly will feel as though he should have had it.  CBFC were a little flat going forward this morning and in the second half only created one chance of real note when a long range effort was tipped around the post.  Good luck to manager Lee Ramsden and his team in the next round.  Well officiated by Mr Swift.

The forecast for the weekend looked good midweek and after the thaw of recent days and Junior Football going ahead yesterday things looked good for this morning.  However, a sharp overnight frost accounted for almost all of the scheduled matches  Courtesy of the BFSFA committee, here are the results from the four Divisional Cup games that did survive.  The the fixtures for next Sunday's reduced programme are now on-line although with snow and cold temperatures forecast for later in the week we could be negatively affected by the weather once again.   If in doubt over fixtures please contact Dennis Peters on 391055.

Lancashire Sunday Trophy – 2010/11

Lancashire Sunday Trophy - 2010/11

The Lancashire Sunday Trophy continues and next Sunday our sole remaining side, Poulton SFC will take on Preston side Ingol Rangers FC for a place in the semi-finals. Weather permitting, the match will take place at the ground of Poulton Town FC. Ingol Rangers FC currently occupy ninth position in the Premier Division of the Preston Sunday league.  I'm sure we all wish Poulton SFC the best of luck in making the last four.

BFSFA programme frozen out once again

BFSFA programme frozen out once again

Just to confirm the committee decision that ALL matches have been postponed for the second week in succession due to frost-bound pitches across the Fylde.  On a positive note, temperatures look set to rise from Tuesday onwards and unlike most other places, our lack of snow has led to a mainly dry week so the pitches should be OK for next week.  Dennis is feverishly re-working the fixtures for 12/12 and when they're posted on to the system we'll let you know via the Shoutbox.  Enjoy your Sunday off and fingers crossed the Blackpool FC match versus Manchester United FC goes ahead at Bloomfield Road….DOH!!

All games off - Sunday November 28th 2010

The 'Big Freeze' came early and after week's of good weather for Sunday football the weekend's sub zero temperatures had made the frozen Fylde Coast pitches unsafe to play on, especially in the rutted goalmouths.  No games survived so a Sunday off for all.  Next week's opening December fixtures are now on-line.   If in doubt, please contact Dennis Peters on 391055.

The G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report 21 November 2010

In the Lancashire Cup games Poulton SFC was the only G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance team to go through to the quarter finals after defeating Warrington side Hoop & Mallet Callands 11-1 with Adam Shorrocks scoring four and Darren Hall and Lee Catlow hat tricks. Committee Notes – November 2010

Committee Notes - November 2010

Firstly, we previously informed you  that on the 12th September, Grand Designs FC inadvertently fielded an ineligible player in their Division 2 1-0 win against the Farmers Arms FC (Now renamed as CTK FC).  The committee decided that Christ the King FC were to be awarded a 1-0 win.  We omitted to say that Grand Designs FC were also deducted three points. The league table has been updated. Secondly, Premier Division side Northern Care FC have submitted their resignation from the league.  The committee look to grudgingly accept it at this week's meeting.  The table will be updated when it's been notified as being official.
