Well, it had to happen one day.  I've had the ball in the groin before but as I took a picture of the above clearance, the ball hit the camera full on which crashed into my nose causing bleeding, swelling and a headache.  It certainly hasn't improved my chances of success at the office Christmas party.

On the hour mark, the deadlock was finally and deservedly broken by the away side.  Scott Lyon (prone) was given far too much time on the edge of the box.  His overhead kick deceived both the defender and keeper Sly to find the back of the net.  0-1

Referee Ross Swift – well into his Seventies (the game only went ahead as the players convinced him it was mid August) shares a laugh with the players

After three weeks of blank weekends it was great and get and see some live football and even though you could still hear the sound of stud on the hard surface in the latter stages as the players hoofed across the pitch you'd have to say that the 30 minute delay made the pitch just about playable.  Not the most exciting of Cup ties with only a handful of clear cut chances.  DH Gas deserved it and with a little more clinical finishing they should have won by two or three but all too often, an extra and unnecessary touch cost them but they played well with some good passing football as they moved up the pitch. Both keepers handled the ball well apart from the goal which Sly will feel as though he should have had it.  CBFC were a little flat going forward this morning and in the second half only created one chance of real note when a long range effort was tipped around the post.  Good luck to manager Lee Ramsden and his team in the next round.  Well officiated by Mr Swift.
