![]() | Courtesy of the BFSFA committee, here are all of the provisional results from today's programme of Sunday Football league action. The tables, fixtures and results have now been updated. If in doubt, please call Dennis on 391055. (Also includes pictures from the three Divisional Cup semi finals that were played at Commonedge Road, Blackpool). Important – Don't forget that we have midweek fixtures on Wednesday evening. Next week we have a reduced programme on Easter Sunday but beware of ground changes. |
FC Kingsfield of Division 3 make it through to the final of the Division 2/3 Cup following a classic 4-3 victory against Division 2 high flyers Boars Head FC. It will be Poulton SFC v Newton Arms FC contesting the Prem/Division 1 Cup final after both teams recorded relatively comfortable victories. Parkside FC pick up three points in their attempt to cement runners up spot in the Prem. In Division 1, Tower Lounge FC bounce back from midweek defeat to beat Golden Eagle FC 2-1 away to regain top spot whilst the County FC continued their strong finish with a win away at Highfield Social FC. A good win for Stable Bar FC in Division 2 as they still look to finish as high as third. Mere Park FC win again in Division 3 to keep their title aspirations very much alive and in Division 4, Thatched FC win 2-0 away at FC Newton to go a point clear at the top of Division 4 with three games still left to play.

On Pitch 8 we had the Prem/Division 1 Cup semi final between Poulton SFC of the Prem v Wrea Green of Division 1 unsurprisingly in the green. A good effort from Wrea Green but in the end it was Poulton who went through to play Newton Arms FC in the final thanks to a 3-0 win. (Carl Eastwood left)

On to the Division 2/3 Cup semi between Division 2 leaders Blackpool Lane Ends FC versus Division 3 contenders Number Four Celtic FC (Red). Blackpool Lane Ends FC take the lead and the Celtic players look questioningly towards the liner – nothing doing. Lane Ends made it to the final thanks to a 4-0 win.

It's a second for Blackpool Lane Ends FC as the Celtic keeper was caught of his line from a free kick
Please God – let the ground swallow me up!
Blackpool Lane Ends FC – happy but not complacent at the break thanks to a 2-0 lead.

Finally we had what turned out to be the best of today's semis as Boars Head FC (2) took on FC Kingsfield FC (3) looking for a place in the final. A bit of a colour clash this one but Boars Head FC had Boars Head on their shirts
A great first half for FC Kingsfield as they went into a 3-0 lead with the wind on their backs
But the Boars were fired up at the break and quickly pulled one back
..and then another through top striker Lee O'Neill – Kingsfield were wobbling…game on!
Referee Benjamin Wiseman
FC Kingsfield keeper
A bit of a roller coaster this one (See what I did there)
Second handwarmer of the day
Lee O'Neill (Those knees have seen some action)
FC Kingsfield breakaway against the run of play to make it 4-2.
An off the ball incident in the box….'you saw that didn't you camera man?' 'er no, but the liner did'
'Well, what happened?'
'Red card'
More debate
Still time for a penalty….Lee O'Neil scores for Boars to make it 4-3 making for an intertesting last few minutes
It's over and it'll be FC Kingsfield (3) v Blackpool Lane Ends FC (2) in the final. Semi finals are always emotional affairs but FC Kingsfield deserved it over the 90 minutes.
A great morning of Sunday football Cup action
