The G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report 13 November 2011
Holders Poulton SFC are the sole survivors from the G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance in the last sixteen of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy after knocking out Preston side Acregate 5-0 with a Carl Eastwood hat trick and other goals from Lee Catlow and Daniel Whittaker.
In the Gledhill Cup holders Quilligans disposed of Tangerine Tavern 3-1 with Jordan Spedding (2) and Marc Beattie on target and Barry Davenport replying.
Gardeners Arms went second in the Premier Division after defeating Chris Allen Garages 8-0 with a Philip Smith treble and a Stuart Holloway pair heading their scorers. In a high scoring game Spindles and Newton Arms shared the points in the 5-5 result with Robert Greaves and Terence Fearns netting twice for their sides.
After a second successive defeat Blackpool Motor Works surrendered top spot in Division One when losing 5-0 to Blackpool Catholic Club with Dean Hoogerwerf (2), Stephen Bonser Marco Cobb and David Cram their scorers. Golden Eagle head the table after winning 4-1 against Highfield Social with Bradley Foulkes Ben Moss and Brady Skellington and an own goal on their score sheet. Tower Lounge enjoyed a 4-2 victory over Village Steel with strikes from Alex Jebb Chris Preece and a Greg Peel double. Pairs from Peter Harding and Chris Jackson clinched a 7-2 win for Uncle Toms Cabin against C & G Electrical. Wrea Green defeated The County 5-2 with Nathan Cook and Andrew Thornley both scoring twice.
With the leaders of Division Two not playing second placed Boars Head failed to take advantage and lost 3-2 to 21st Century Windows who are now only three points behind them. With three games in hand Burn Naze are challenging after beating FC Rangers 4-2 with Daniel Duffy netting twice. FC Wilo romped home 11-1 against Squirrel with Danny Worth bagging four and Christopher Pope two goals. James Isadore scored both goals for CTK in the 2-0 victory over Travel Village.
In Division Three leaders Xceptional Kitchens defeated challengers Kingsfield 5-2 with Matthew Carlisle scoring two. Second placed Number Four Celtic were surprisingly beaten 2-1 by the improving Bispham Hotel whose goals came from Jordan Howe and Wesley Warrender. Mere Park struggled against a spirited Blue Spot Knee Clinic who were level until the last twenty minutes before going down 4-1 to goals from Mark Langley George Livesey Nick Tosh and Jacob Peake. Sam Truesdale celebrated his hundredth goal for Marshall Court in the 6-2 defeat of Lane Ends. Pairs from Stuart Wilson and Paul Wilson earned Metrostars a 4-1 win against Old England.
Thatched House went top of Division Four after the 3-2 success over Fylde Coast Vets. with a Paul Parker double and a Matt Gowen strike. Excellent UK inflicted the first defeat on previous leaders Newton FC with Kieren Rimmington grabbing a hat trick in the 4-1 win. Goals from Stuart Diggle and King James Ephraim clinched a 2-1 success for Blue Room against Berrys Beds. A Damian Dinsmore pair earned Philharmonic a 3-1 victory over DS Rovers. Doubles from Martin Downs and Steven Turner helped DH Gas to the 6-1 defeat of Victoria Hospital.
