The G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report – 14 August 2011
In the Premier Division of the G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance champions Quilligans maintained their winning start to the season with a 6-0 victory over Gardeners Arms with Martin Baird and Lee Broadbent both scoring twice. Promoted Christ the King are level at the top after beating FC Loco 4-1 with a hat trick from Bradley Gill.
At the top of Division One the only goal of the game from Peter Floyd against Uncle Toms Cabin gave Tower Lounge a second successive win. Blackpool Catholic Club lead Blackpool Motor Works 2-0 before going behind 3-2 but a late second goal from David Cram gave them a share of the points in the 3-3 result with Matthew Darby netting twice for Motor. Bathroom Solutions romped home 6-0 against C & G Electrical with a Kurt Bradley treble and goalkeeper Joe Bradley making a spectacular penalty save to keep a clean sheet.
Boars Head lead Division One after Lee O`Neill netted four in the 5-3 win over The Sun Inn with Paul Gaskell replying twice. Hansom Cab are level following the 5-0 victory over Squirrel with pairs from Christopher Croall and Jamie Lowther.
In Division Three no team having played three games has maximum points. Leaders Xceptional Kitchens beat bottom side Marton Athletic 8-2 with doubles from Kyle Pieri and Darren Worrall. Lane Ends are level after defeating St Annes 3-1 with David Bamber Richard Tomlinson and Marcus Turnbull on the score sheet. Number Four Celtic have won both their games following the 2-1 win over Metrostars with goals from Martin Bowlings and Nathan Jefferson.
Thatched House are joint top of Division Four after beating D S Rovers 6-0 with a Matt Gowen treble. Soul Suite are level after the 4-1 defeat of Stanley Arms with a Daniel Davies pair and other goals from Christopher Daws and Luke Weekes . A high scoring game saw Philharmonic win 9-5 against Fylde Coast Vets. with doubles from Damian Dinsmore and Phil Palfrey whilst Stuart McPhee grabbed a hat trick for Vets. Daniel Greenway scored three for FC Newton in the 5-1 defeat of D H Gas. A Keiran Rimmington treble clinched a 5-1 victory for Excellent UK over Lane Ends Res.
In the first round of the Gledhill Trophy Division Four Victoria Hospital had a surprise 3-2 win over Division Two Travel Village with a pair from Ian Crosby.
