Sportspy Extra – July 2011
![]() | The old Fyldesport camera finally gave up towards the end of last season with the winter weather finally taking its toll (they're just not built for the Edge In February). The replacement arrived during the week. The Sunday before the start of the new football season and it was time to put it to the the test. There's been some good cricket at South Shore CC over the summer and it continued this afternoon with the Sunday 1st XI at home to Kirkham & Wesham CC. Both sides were struggling down at the wrong end of the table. |
'Wes, we're fielding and it starts in ten minutes, you better get a move on'. He polished off the McDonalds with nine minutes to spare.
A Christening in the clubhouse, 'give us a lift with the buggy'.
Young scorer Thomas Pennington…a tough job, complex, mentally exhausting but rewarding.
Visitors Kirkham & Wesham won the toss and elected to bat. They put 155 on the board from their 45 overs. A very strong South Shore side knocked them off in about 34 overs and won by five wickets. The following pictures were taken from the first innings. South Shore are in the field.
Danny Jardine
Safely into the gloves of SSCC keeper Tyne Davis
Joe Pennington, a good leap. Quality umpiring….watching the crease.
Tyne Davis – an improved zoom on the new camera.
Wes Holmes
No surprise that Adderley insisted on fielding on the boundary edge.
Scary
Sunday football veteran Mark Sevens
Old mate John Nixon, hadn't seen him for twenty years but he's ageing well…..and he puts my photo's in the shade.
Luke Jardine
A despairing dive from the Kirkham batsman but he made it home.
One down…send him back
'Middle please'…..good to see a confident youngster
He's never without that mobile phone.
