The G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report 20 February 2011
In the G Casino Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Quilligans moved closer to retaining their Premier Division crown after completing the double over challengers Gardeners Arms. A Lee Broadbent strike from twenty yards sealed the 1-0 victory.
With games in hand Poulton SFC are still in contention after defeating Blackpool Rangers 2-1 with Christopher Morris and Daniel Morris on target. The two bottom sides shared the points in a 2-2 draw with Ryan Croft and Anthony Cullen scoring for Newton Arms and Samuel Jacob Dyer and Alan Williams replying for Fylde Coast Gates.
In the Premier/Division 1 Cup Devonshire Arms beat Great Eccleston 7-0 with with Alan McLoughlin scoring three and Michael Nicholson and Lee Feehan twice.
In Division 1 Fleetwood Gym strengthened their position at the top after beating The County 7-2 with a Liam Forrest hat trick and a Daniel Smith double. With games in hand Spindles are still challengers after the 2-0 success against Highfield Social with Jordan Beech and Phillip Ioannou netting. Uncle Toms Cabin climbed off the bottom after the 6-2 victory over Golden Eagle.
A number of teams are fighting for the Division 2 title with only four points separating the top five teams. Leaders No. 4 Rangers won 4-1 against Layton Institute with Marlon Bradley Anthony Haworth Ben Price and Adam Walsh on the score sheet. Joint second Northern Care Colts defeated Travel Village 3-1 with Ben Waddington grabbing all their goals. Real Burlington are level following the 4-1 victory over Squirrel with an Andy Harvie pair. With games in hand Bloomfield Hotel kept their title hopes alive with the 3-2 win against Blackpool Catholic Club with a Barry Davenport double. Goals from Adam Casson and Shaun Meehan kept Tower Lounge in contention after they beat C & G Electrical 2-1.
There was a shock at the top of Division 3 when leaders Boars Head suffered their first league defeat in going down 3-1 against second placed Blackpool Lane Ends whose goals came from Daniel Garth (2) and Gareth Jakins. Chris Casson grabbed all Kingsfield goals in the 3-1 success against St. Annes.
In the Division 2-3 Cup an Ashley Walsh treble and a Phillip Csesznyak pair clinched a 5-2 win for Hansom Cab over Dockers.
Division 4 leaders No.1 Club struggled to beat CBFC Choice Furniture with Luke Mitchell`s goal clinching a 1-0 win. Second placed Stable Bar surprisingly lost 4-3 to Xceptional Kitchens with Dale Ritchie Ryan Roberts Andy Smith and Darren Worrall scoring for the winners. Clifton Arms hammered Waterloo Pub 13-2 with Ashley Casey`s four goals and a Paul Passmore hat trick topping their scorers. Fylde Coast Vets. moved off the foot of the table after defeating D H Gas 3-0 with goals from Stuart McPhee and Peter Baggaley and a debut strike from Matt Greer. Vets recorded only their second win and kept a clean sheet for the first time.
