Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report – 03 October 2010
Heavy rain caused the postponement of half the sixteen second round Gledhill Cup ties in the Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance. The shock of the day in the games played was division 2 Fleetwood Kings 6-5 defeat of Premier side Fylde Coast Gates with Lee Crook and Paul Parker both scoring twice and Henry Wright getting a hat trick for the losers. The other surprise result was division 4 Sun Inn beating division 1 Shovels 7-3 with Paul Gaskell netting four and Wesley Renshaw two. A Lee Miles treble and an Andy Gouck double clinched a 5-3 victory for Bloomfield Vets. against Boars Head whose scorers were Lee O`Neill (2) and Robbie Slater. Three goals from Ryan Long helped Real Burlington to a 5-1 success over Mere Park. The County led Blackpool Catholic Club 2-0 at half time but goals from Stephen Bosner and Shaun Meehan took the game into extra time when two more Bosner strikes and a Jimmy Gilmour goal took Catholic Club through 5-3. Nathan Cook scored five times for Wrea Green in the 6-1 defeat of Blackpool Catholic Club Colts. Two goals from Chris Matthews saw Gardeners Arms overcome Great Eccleston 3-1.
In the league division 1 bottom side Highfield Social held second placed Additions to a 3-3 draw with a pair from Fraser Cook.
No. 4 Rangers lead division 2 by two points after beating Squirrel 2-1 with goals from Karl Boardman and Dean Chadwick.
Blackpool Lane Ends went joint top of division 3 after the 4-1 victory over Hansom Cab with Craig Worrall Darren Worrall Gary Baird and Gareth Jakins on target. Bottom side Blue Room fought hard against No. 4 Celtic before going down 3-1 with Daniel Duckinfield getting their consolation goal.
No. 1 Club are the clear leaders of division 4 after winning 7-2 against Waterloo Pub with Michael Clarke Ryan Craggs and Michael Scott all scoring pairs. Matthew Hampton scored all Xceptional Kitchens goals in the 3-1 success against Waterloo Hotspurs. CBFC Choice Furniture went third after goals from John Chapman and Sam Ives gave them a 2-1 victory over DH Gas whose reply came from Chris Gray. Lane Ends Res. beat bottom side Truncheon 6-3 with James Craven and Craig Giles both getting doubles and Adam Love replying twice.
