Heavy overnight rain decimated the first round of the Lancashire Sunday Trophy with only seven of the scheduled seventeen ties involving Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance teams being played. Results were disappointing with only two local sides going through to the next round. Poulton SFC defeated Preston team Ashton Villa 7-2 with a hat trick from Lee Catlow and a pair from Daniel Morris. Fylde Coast Gates beat FC Dale from Rochdale 5-2 with Samuel Dyer scoring twice. Although a Kyle Bingham header gave FC Eden an early lead against Canaries from Preston goals either side of the break resulted in a 2-1 defeat. The County lost on penalties to Rochdalians after finishing level 3-3.
In division 1 Fleetwood Gym had a shock win over leaders Bloomfield Vets. who dropped their first points in the 2-1 defeat with Dean Richards and Daniel Smith scoring and Andy Gouck replying.
Bloomfield Hotel surprised division 2 leaders No. 4 Rangers who suffered their first loss in the 3-2 result. Fleetwood Kings beat second placed Real Burlington 8-2 with Zack Coultas Lee Crook and Paul Myerscough all netting twice. Matthew Derby scored four times for Layton Institute in the 5-1 victory over Dockers.
Boars Head top division 3 after ending Hansom Cab`s good run by defeating them 5-0 with a Craig Harding double. Blackpool Lane Ends continued their high scoring by winning 9-0 against Old England with a Gareth Jakins treble and pairs from Michael Treece-Birch and Craig Worrall. St Annes won their first game in the 6-3 success against bottom side Blue Room with Nick Beddows grabbing four. A Conner Cooper double helped Teamsport 90 to a 4-2 victory over No. 4 Celtic.
At the top of division 4 No. 1 Club got back to winning ways after thrashing bottom team Truncheon 12-0 with Danny Cowell scoring four and Gavin Holmes a hat trick. Stable Bar went joint second after trouncing Waterloo Pub 9-0 with Brett Nixon striking four and Shaun Worden three. Xceptional Kitchens are level with Stable Bar after winning 8-0 against Fylde Coast Vets. with Rick Singleton`s three goals leading their scorers. Tony Burke`s four goals helped Clifton Arms to an 8-2 success against Lane Ends Res. In a close game Waterloo Hotspur came out on top 6-4 over Metrostars with pairs from Mark Bray and Brendan Smalley and Rob Harris replying twice.
