Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report – 12 September 2010
The outstanding Gledhill Cup games in The Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance saw holders Quilligans go through to the third round after beating Uncle Toms Cabin 7-0 with Liam Frend scoring four. In the all division three tie Boars Head edged out Hansom Cab 5-4 thanks to a hat trick from Colin Hannighan. West Coast Tackle defeated Bloomfield Hotel 2-1 with Ben Seear and Adrian Reid on target but the win was marred by the broken collarbone suffered by West Coast`s Adam Prance on the eve of his 18th birthday.
In the Premier division Gardeners Arms had a good 3-0 victory over Poulton SFC with a double for Phil Smith. Matthew Parr scored four for FC Loco in the 5-3 win against Pulcinella`s . Devonshire Arms and Fylde Coast Gates drew 3-3 with pairs from David Cram and Samuel Dyer. FC Eden defeated Newton Arms 6-4 with Ryan Bingham and Mark Cottam scoring twice.
Bloomfield Vets. are clear leaders in Division 1 after beating bottom side Highfield Social with Benjamin McKay netting four. Mythop Leisure drew 3-3 with second placed Additions with Chris Hibbert scoring all their goals. Great Eccleston went above Spindles into third after defeating them 2-1 with Daniel Ball getting both goals.
No 4 Rangers who top division 2 won 3-0 against Dockers with Dean Chadwick Mark Lisgo and Adam Walsh on the score sheet. Real Burlington keep in touch after winning 3-2 at Wrea Green. The second of Stephen Bosner`s goals gave Blackpool Catholic a late 2-1 victory over Squirrel.
Three teams are level at the top of division 3 after Mere Park overcame rivals Ashiana 2-1 after going behind. Leading striker Jacob Peake scored two goals in the first half to earn Mere Park the points. Blackpool Lane Ends thrashed Blue Room 15-0 with Gareth Jakins four goals and Ryan Barlow`s hat trick leading their scorers. FC Rangers hammered Old England 9-1 with Robert Nunnen and Ryan Bradley both getting hat tricks. Marshall Court had a fine 7-3 victory over No. 4 Celtic with Jack Broadbent and Craig Simpson both scoring twice.
Division 4 leaders No.1 Club dropped their first points in losing 5-4 to Clifton Arms with Matty Grime scoring twice for the winners. Despite going a goal behind and missing a penalty Fylde Coast Vets won their first game by beating CBFC Choice Furniture 3-2. Metrostars thumped Waterloo Pub 9-1 with Stuart Wilson bagging five goals and Marcus Unsworth three.
