Mortgage Shop Blackpool and Fylde Sunday Report 21 March 2010
In the Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance holders Quilligans are through to the semi finals of the Gledhill Cup after a 2-0 victory over Blackpool Rangers with Michael Evans and Phil Thompson on target.
In the Premier division inconsistent Northern Care lost 3-1 to bottom side Wrea Green. The Dunes beat Pulcinella`s 7-3 with Keiran Rimmington and Alan O`Loughlin scoring twice.
Leaders of division 1 FC Loco won 4-2 against Paris Casino but FC Eden keep the pressure on them after the 3-0 defeat of North West Kitchens with Craig Byrom grabbing the goals. The Old Town Hall and Bloomfield Vets. shared the points in a 3-3 result with Gary Mc Evatt and Ashley Walsh getting pairs for their teams. Northern Care Res. and Fleetwood Cricket Club also finished 3-3. Stuart Holloway scored for Highbury Vets. in the 1-0 win over local rivals AFC Additions.
Great Eccleston who top division 2A trounced Hampton Road Social 9-0 with Ben Strawn `s 4 goals leading their scorers. Second placed West Coast Tackle dropped points after being held 4-4 by Rossall Tavern. Mythop Leisure stay in contention after winning 4-3 at Claremont Cons. with Matthew Rainbow getting a hat trick.
Division 2B challengers Progress Sports dropped points in the 1-1 draw with No 4 Pub when Mark Truby equalised substitute Scott Buchanan`s opening goal. Leaders Highfield Social beat Boars Head 3-2 with Fraser Cook and Lee Chettle on their score sheet. With games in hand Layton Institute are still in contention following the 5-1 win against AFC Marton with Daniel Butterworth netting twice. At the bottom Mere Park missed a penalty before going down 3-1 to Metrostars with Stuart Wilson scoring twice.
The first title of the season was secured by Real Burlington in division 3A after they defeated Berrys Beds 6-0 with doubles from Andy Harvie and Jamie Nay. Only 1 point separates the 3 teams challenging for the runners up spot. Teamsport 90 beat J & S Body Repairs 7-2 with Andy Smith scoring 5. Falcon are level with them after hammering St Annes Ex Service 8-1 with Bruce Budden Michael Banks and Robbie Walsh netting twice. Farmers Arms lost ground after the 1-0 defeat at AFC Ansdell Excelsior with Daniel Garth the scorer.
Golden Eagle who lead division 3B by a point and have 4 games in hand beat The Sun Inn 4-1 with 2 goals from Brent Skellington. Second placed FC Kingsfield got back to winning ways by defeating FC Edge 2-1 with John Atkinson and Martin Bowlings their marksmen. Score Football and Frenchmans Cove shared the points in the 4-4 result whilst C & G Electrical and Ashiana drew 3-3 with Luke Noble bagging all C & G `s goals.
