Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Report December 13th November 2009


The Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance Premier side Quilligans went through to the semi finals of the Lancashire Cup after defeating top Blackburn side The Station Hotel 3-1. Kevan Ford gave Quilligans an early lead before the visitors drew level to take the tie into extra time. Paul Cook then scored in the first minute before a Michael Evans goal in the second period sealed the game.  Quilligans could now face local rivals The Devonshire Arms if they win their outstanding quarter final match.

In the Premier Division Cup Poulton SFC struggled to beat bottom side Wrea Green 1-0.

The shock of the day was in Division 2 Cup where bottom side Claremont Cons. beat joint leaders Gt. Eccleston 3-1 with Martyn Whelan Nick Banting and David Calvert getting their goals. Blackpool Catholic Club eased through 6-1 against The Boars Head with Stephen Bosner scoring four. Waterloo Sports beat AFC Marton 2-0 although the defeat would have been greater but for an outstanding display from keeper Liam Whitehead. Fireplace Superstore and The Squirrel could not be separated in a 4-4 result. Highfield Social won 5-0 against Marshall Court with a hat trick from Paul Bolus and 2 goals from Fraser Cook.

In the Division Three Cup Frenchmans Cove overcame SPS 5-4 with 4 goals from Christopher Awde. Leaders Real Burlington beat Teamsport 90 with Mark Webster scoring the only goal of the game. Score Football won 8-4 against Trades and Social with a Tarren Moxan hat trick leading their scorers. Uncle Toms Cabin narrowly beat C & G Electrical 5-4 while J & S Body Repairs surprised Berrys Beds by winning 2-0 with Danny Cowell and Jake Rollinson on the score sheet. FC Edge were the top scorers of the day in defeating FC Castilla 10-3.

Northern Care went to the top of the Premier division after beating Pulcinella`s 3-1.

FC Loco climbed to the top of division 1 by defeating third placed FC Matrix 4-2 with a double from Dale Woolhouse. Old Town Hall won 4-0 at Highbury Vets. with Gary McEvatt netting twice. Fleetwood Cricket Club won the Fleetwood derby against AFC Additions 5-1.

Bottom of division 3A Lane Ends were thrashed 8-0 by AFC Ansdell Excelsior with Daniel Garth scoring four.

In division 3B leaders FC Kingsfield were surprisingly beaten 4-2 by Ashiana with Phillipson Peltier netting twice for the winners.
