Mortgage Shop Sunday Alliance Report 25th October 2009

Games in the Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance were again affected by heavy rain and strong winds but on Sunday the weather was the winner with all the Lancashire Cup matches being postponed and only 12 League games surviving.

In the Premier Division Poulton SFC went top after defeating Fylde Coast Gates 10-4 in the only game played with Lee Catlow scoring 4 and Carl Eastwood getting a hat trick.

FC Matrix moved to joint top of Division 1 after winning an exciting game with North West Kitchens who had led 1-0 at half time through a deflected 25 yard free kick from Tony Whittle. Tim Kinley increased Kitchens lead early in the second half before 2 goals from Marco Cobb including a penalty and a Phillip Ioannou strike gave Matrix the points in the 3-2 victory.  In the meeting of the bottom two sides Paris Casino and G E Rushworth were level 1-1 at the interval but then Rushworth went nap to win 4-1.

In the top game in Division 2A the unbeaten leaders met at Common Edge with Gt Eccleston leading 3-0 early in the second period but West Coast Tackle assisted by the strong wind and despite missing a penalty grabbed a late equaliser to level the scores 3-3. The Squirrel beat Hampton Road Social 5-2 with 3 goals from Michael Swann and a double from Peter Houghton.

Bottom side in Division 2B Mere Park fought hard against Blackpool Catholic Club but lost 1-0 to a late goal from Steve Bonser.

The only game in Division 3A saw FC Newton defeat Trades & Social 2-1 with Gareth Lowcock and Glenn Martland scoring.

Kingsfield FC leaders of Division 3B got back to winning ways after thrashing Blackpool Owls 10-0 with Martin Bowlings getting a hat trick and Luke Noble and Ben Heatley both scoring twice. Hat tricks from Mark Ford and Chris Clapp and a pair from Stuart Ford secured a 9-1 win for FC Edge against bottom side FC Newton Castilla. Ashiana and The Stable Bar shared the points in a 3-3 draw
