Mortgage Shop Sunday Alliance Report 6 October 2009  

The third round of the Gledhill Cup was played last Sunday in the Mortgage Shop Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance. The only shock result was division 3B Frenchmans Cove 8-1 win against division 1 side G E Rushworth with Steven Clifford and Steven Gilmore both scoring twice. Bloomfield Vets eliminated Premier side Wrea Green thanks to goals from Benjamin McKay and Wesley Warrender. Spindles from division 2A fought back from 3-0 down against division 1 FC Loco only to eventually lose 4-3 with a Matthew Parr hat trick seeing Loco through.

Golden Eagle from division 3B were narrow 2-1 losers to Premier side Fylde Coast Gates. Stable Bar also from 3B gave Premier leaders Northern Care a tough game before losing 3-0 with 2 goals from Paul Eddleston. Lee Catlow`s 4 goals helped Poulton SFC to a 7-1 victory over Hampton Road Social. 

In the Premier Division Hydronics good run ended when they were beaten 6-2 by Pulcinella`s with Stuart Parkinson and Kyle Bedford scoring twice for the winners. Old Town Hall had a good 7-3 win over Paris Casino in division 1 with 4 goals from Graeme Hutchinson. 

Division 2A leaders Great Eccleston won 5-2 against Claremont Cons but are under pressure from West Coast Tackle who went second after thrashing Autoweld 9-0 with Rick Seear and John Emery both getting doubles. 

Bottom side in division 2B Mere Park earned their first points in the 2-1 defeat of AFC Marton with goals from captain David McNicol and Aaron Hodgkinson. Blackpool Catholic Club got back to winning ways after 4 losses in the 5-0 win at Marshall Court Sandpiper with Phil Brown getting a hat trick and Kyle Weaver and Stephen Bosner also netting. Inconsistent Old England lost 8-2 to Skye with Lee O`Neill grabbing 4 goals. 

Real Burlington went top of division 3A after leaders AFC Ansdell Excelsior were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by Teamsport 90 who went third. 

All 4 games in division 3B had players scoring 3 goals including Adam Bradley for King Edward V11 who reversed last weeks defeat by Newton Castilla by beating them 6-2. The other hat trick men were Sean Yates for Ashiana Stuart Ford for FC Edge and C & G Electrical`s Chris Davies. Next Sunday sees 11 Alliance teams competing in the third round of the Lancashire Cup.
