Snaps – Div 2A – Brun Grove v Fairhaven – Sunday April 12th 2009

Easter Sunday morning on a warm and sunny Stanley Park.  A busy playpark to keep the toddlers amused, and women's hockey on the astroturf providing a distraction for the dads.  Oh, and Brun Grove were facing Fairhaven in a near top-of-the-table Division 2A clash.

Fairhaven FC, needing a win today to challenge Excelsior for runners-up spot

We're underway. Fairhaven played some nice football without result whilst Brun battled for possession

The early chances fell to Brun Grove, Fairhaven's keeper had to be on his toes froma couple of Danny Kelly efforts

2nd half, still 1-0 up and Brun are withstanding a bit of pressure from Fairhaven

Not for long though as a counter-attack leads to 18 year old Michael Long rifling home for 2-0

After the match, Ref Tony Cunliffe had to enquire about Swifty's well-being.'Are you feeling alright Swifty, that's the first time I've reffed you without sending you off!'
