![]() | The second Gledhill Cup semi final was played today at the ground of Blackpool Wren Rovers FC. Premier Division team Hydronics FC were taking on Waterloo Hotel FC of Division 1 for a place in the prestigious final. Quilligans FC awaited the winners. |
A semi-final tie that went the way of favourites Hydronics but only after they had to withstand Waterloo pressure for the first 30 minutes.Looking confident against the higher division opposition Waterloo went close to opening the scoring only for Hydronics to score almost against the run of play.
Their accurate passing game and a defensive slip led to 2-0 at half time.Pushing forward in the second half Waterloo left themselves open at the back. Failing to convert chances at one end and being over-run at the other was the way of the second half.Final score 5-0 to Hydronics who now meet Quilligans in the Final at Bloomfield Road.
