Fyldesport Vets XI update.
![]() | Thanks to a healthy number of replies the Fyldesport Vets XI is beginning to take shape (?) for our inaugural match against the visiting Kent side in April. As you'll see we're currently top heavy with 'ugly ageing spoilers' so we're now looking for players with skill, craft, guile, creativity, striking ability and hopefully attractiveness to complete the dream team. Do you fit the bill, (Over 35, able bodied, enthusiastic and committed)? If so please contact me as soon as you can. First come first served. Places going fast. All players are guaranteed at least half a game. sportspy22@aol.com |

Don't overly worry about the listed positions – these will no doubt change on the day.
Average age – 40 and rising!
John Miles from Blackpool Rangers FC has kindly agreed to provide the full kit, net, corner flags, first aid kit and footballs. Because of this, and in typical Sunday football tradition, we've therefore decided to make him captain.
We're still to find a venue. I expect we'll try and hire a pitch on Commonedge but Collins Park may be available if we can obtain permission from the league. We've now found a referee, Mr Lee Willetts will officiate but forever the optimist, we're still after a couple of volunteer linesmen.
As a reminder, the game is on Saturday April 26th (KO time to be decided). I expect we'll head back to the Shovels afterwards where we'll organise a buffet.
If any of the fortunate selections have to cry off for any reason please let me know ASAP in order that we can recruit replacements.
Contributions for all expenses incurred will be expected from both teams.
Further updates to follow.
