|Blackpool FC photographer Phil Heywood has invested in a hugely expensive camera for the new season. He contacted me asking if I knew of any games on last night in which he could put it to the test. I steered him in the direction of School Road for the Wren Rovers v Poulton West Lancs Premier League match. Here are a few of his photographs from the game.|
Although the final score was 2-1 to Wren Rovers it was a hard fought local derby. Many observers, including myself, though that Poulton were worthy of a point but it wasn't to be and after two games they're still without a point. In contrast Wrens have six from six making for the perfect start. Two clinical one on one finishes from Danny Pickering found the net for Wrens whilst Peter Kane pounced on defensive hesitation for the Poulton goal. Both teams face tough away fixtures against fancied teams at the weekend.
