Stable Bar FC

It's always good to get a bit of background on new teams.  Here's all you need to know about Stable Bar FC from Kirkham.  If you're involved with one of the ten new teams this season why not send us something similar to ?

We thought it time for an introduction from The Stable Bar FC.

Having been hassled consistently by Neil Barber, Landlord of The Stable Bar, Kirkham, it fell upon Jimmy McMahon (Manager) and Dave Pearse (Secretary and Asst Manager) to form the team.

Neil had been desperate to have a team playing under his banner and after some careful consideration (and a few free pints) we agreed.  Lee Harris and Max Bradshaw having already told Neil that they had a number of players interested, more than enough to form a team anyway, so here we are.

Jimmy McMahon has been involved mainly in Saturday Football with Kirkham & Wesham and Dave Pearse had previously managed The Windmill FC (Div 3B) for almost two seasons, before being coaxed into helping out The Stable Bar.  The team consists of players of mixed abilities and a vast majority from the Kirkham & Wesham area and have been training twice weekly since mid June.

Dave Pearse is the oldest at 37 years young; Jimmy McMahon is next eldest at 27 and the rest of the team average between 18 and 23, with one or two oldies at 25/26. The aim to our first season in the league is not finishing bottom.  The team will surely get more experienced and with youth on their side, may even aspire to promotion in the coming seasons.

Opposing Teams are very much welcome to come and have a post match drink at The Stable Bar and can be assured of a friendly family orientated atmosphere, good beer and almost definitely some kind of Football on the many screens sited around the place.  Be sure to check out our new website at ;
