Midweek photo’s – April 2006.

With less than twelve days to the big kick off there was an interesting friendly tonight between Squires Gate FC and Kirkham that featured a number of Alliance players.

Despite the very warm sunshine it was a really good game with lots of interesting battles all over the pitch.  It was scoreless at the interval but a quick break upfield resulted in Kirkham taking the lead through a good individual effort after rounding the keeper.  In the last minute the visitors made it 2-0.

A good work out for both sides with each team making good use of what seemed like unlimited substitutions.

Steve Palmer, newly signed for Kirkham makes a quick return to School Road.

Close season Gate signing Lee Broadbent (Left) is closely marked by Dougie Shaw.

Chris Days (Right)

Squires Gate FC keeper Ben Morris.

Another new signing for Gate as Kevan Ford moves across the road from Blackpool Mechanics.

The referee sensibly holds up play for a much needed drinks break.

Kirkham celebrate the opener.

The heat takes its toll as cramp sets in.
