Pictures from The Compere Cup
![]() | Whilst out for the usual daily stroll I called in at the two Compere Cup matches being played at Commonedge Road. |
New Alliance side Waterloo FC were playing their first competitive game in a friendly against the Royal Oxford. It was 1-0 at half time to the Waterloo but when I left the Royal had just equalised.
Waterloo FC. Looking forward to the 2006/07 Season.

There's no such thing as a friendly as a few choice tackles spark a bit of handbags.
Over the dyke we had an interesting Compere Cup fixture between the Brannigans first team and a 'new look' Highfield Social. After Highfield took the lead Brannigans came back to go in 2-1 ahead at the interval. In the end Brannigans won the game 3-2.

Brannigans pair Brett Baker (left) & Martyn Percival, both contenders for the 'Most Impressive Tackle' Award, but for differing reasons.
A 'rumour starting' picture as Chris Days challenges Si Bowden. A new signing for the Social ?
Surely not another season in prospect for these two ? Veterans Chris Giles and Chris Pickering share a laugh……and a breather. Watching these two race each other brought back memories of 'Chariots of Fire'.
New Brannigans forward Matt Derby
Paul Sumner back at Brannigans, clearly benefitting from Daz Meehan's pre-season training regime.
Big Ryan (Centre) watches on. On the right is Highfield legend Gary Dudley.
Come on England !
