Manager of the Month – October 2005

The overall and divisional 'Manager of the Month' awards for October 2005.  These awards are unofficial, just for fun and totally separate from any awards the league itself may wish to bestow.

October is always an important month in the Alliance calendar and last month was no exception with important league and cup games for many.  October had five Sundays in it and only three clubs managed to play five and win five.
The Premier Division continues to get better and better.  The Golden Eagle beat Cahoots, St Annes Ex Service followed up their earlier season home win against Quilligans with a victory over Reform and both Bispham Juniors and McDonald Property were unbeaten in all of the four league games they played.  No team can be taken for granted as lack of preparation, disrespect for opponents or over-confidence will result in defeat.
The Reform Health Club had four wins and one defeat with Mick Horsfall in temporary charge.  He deputised well in a successful yet eventful October.  The team beat St Clares and Bridge Celtic in the Lancashire Trophy, knocked fellow Premier Division side St Annes Ex Service out of the Gledhill and took three league points from Kingsfield Matrix.  After that cup defeat and an earlier league loss St Annes Ex Service took the shine off Reform
