Concentrating this Sunday on the Lancashire Trophy Fifth Round tie between the BFSFA’s Clarence FC and Bolton side Astley Miners FC at Commonedge Road.  158 teams entered the competition at the beginning of the season.  Could the Clarence make it through to the last eight?

Last season the Clarence finished sixth in the Premier Division twenty-nine points behind the Champions Old Vic.  Throughout the season they managed to win seven and draw two out of their twenty league fixtures.  A couple of big defeats against the Old Vic and Fleetwood Kings resulted in them conceding the most goals and having the worst goal difference in the Prem.  Last season in the Lancashire Trophy they went out in Round Two after a first round bye.
